Blue Day 2017 hit the city on Friday 5th May!

It was the 11th Blue Day and the sun was shining as the people of Portsmouth celebrated! A MASSIVE thank you to everyone who took part!

Hundreds of school kids dug out their blue clothes, and it was a sea of blue wigs and facepaints in shops and offices around the city.

Lots of fundraising activities took place, including the ever-popular raffles and blue cake sales. Around 50 schools and organisations took part. It's great to see lots of familiar names signed up to support us again, as well as some new names going blue.

As a small, family run charity, it was wonderful to be approached by some of our regular Blue Day supporters early in the year - they wanted to know the date of Blue Day, as they look forward to it every year and wanted to add it to their diaries! To know that Blue Day has become a part of the local community calendar makes us feel FANTASTIC!

Shake shake shake

Our merry band of Trust volunteers shook collection buckets at Fratton Park on Saturday 6 May, ahead of PFC's last home game of the season. The crowd were very generous - and in great spirits due to Pompey being top of the league - so the collection buckets were nice and heavy! Hundreds of people put coins and notes in the buckets. It was a great opportunity to talk to people too; lots of people knew about the Trust and were very supportive. We're counting up the money raised and will let you know the grand total soon! Thanks very much to every single person who put money in.

Click here to see an article in The News; they went round visiting participants on the big day and made a short video.

Grand total and paying in the funds
We're very excited to know the final total raised, and want to share it with all our supporters. So please send in the funds you have raised ASAP so that we can let people know! Please follow this link for details on how to pay the funds in: Took part in Blue Day 2017?

The history of Blue Day
This was the 11th Blue Day. Each year it is is run in conjunction with Portsmouth Football Club and The News. Blue Day is all about the people of Portsmouth coming together to have a day of fun, whilst supporting this great local charity. Blue Day celebrates the city and also Portsmouth Football Club.

The first Blue Day was held in April 2008 in celebration of Portsmouth Football Club reaching the semi-finals of the FA Cup. It has become the Trust's biggest annual fund-raiser; so far all the Blue Day events combined have raised a staggering total of around £239,000!
